Leaving Te Anau, we travel along Milford Road into Fiordland National Park. Here we board a tour boat taking in the sites of the Sound. Awesome views, waterfalls, steep cliffs, and rugged mountain peeks.
Back to Queenstown for a 3 night stay at the Millenium Hotel.
A free day to explore Queenstown. We had scheduled a helicopter ride, but weather cancelled due to a low ceiling. So we relaxed and walked the surrounding area. Very nice town, 500,000 prox.
A journey to the town of Glenorchy for a jet boat ride on Lake Wakatipu up the Dart River.
1-1/2 hr ride into Mount Aspiring National Park. Adventure ride. 50 mph at times. Sharp turns, spins, shallow water, lots of rocks. Hold your breath!
Evening board a 1912 Steam Boat, truly coal fired. Dinner followed by a sheep shearing demonstration.
